There are people out there who will do anything to break you down. To see you unhappy and see you fail. People who like to talk about you to make themselves feel better about themselves. The type of people who must be really unhappy with their own lives that they spent so much energy talking about yours. These people are toxic, and the quicker you remove them from your circle, the happier you’ll be.

I did this long ago, but still somehow, the toxicity still finds its way to me. I guess I should just make it a rule to not listen, but I find it amusing that I’m still such a hot topic to some.

It doesn’t get to me though. I may not be perfect, but I’m trying really hard to be a good person and live a life of honesty, accountability, and integrity. When my character is attacked or I am wrongfully spoken about, I laugh it off. Because at the end of the day, I know who I am, my family knows who I am, and my circle knows who I am. If others want to believe what they hear instead of coming to the source, then they don’t deserve to know the truth. And same goes for those who like to talk- if they’d prefer to spend their time judging others, well then, good for them.

One of the first posts I wrote was titled “Don’t engage with stupid” and I stand by it. I’m not engaging with this post, I’m just here to tell you all that no matter what is said about you, just be YOU. There’s no need to let it get to you. There’s no need to worry about what others think about you. There’s no need to lose sleep. There’s no need to get angry. There’s really no need to engage.

Keep being YOU and trust that others “will eventually see the truth”.
